Not to brag
but we now have well over 1500
songs in our music library. This
is in addition to tons of music
stored in CD format. My husband
has some decent stereo equipment
and he regularly uses our music
library, computer and stereo
system to DJ private parties for
friends and family.
We are able
to create playlists in ITunes and
we can customize these lists
according to the preferences of
the host. We are always
downloading music for one purpose
or another and we have amassed
quite a collection in all genres
of music.
Nearly a
year ago, a friend of ours was
getting married. She has a
different taste in music than we
do. She wanted to play several
sets of country music along with
more popular pop and rock. This
required several hours of
downloading music that would suit
her tastes. We didn't have any
country music in our library at
that time. Now, we have a couple
of dozen songs of that
variety.

fact, even our son is
able to quickly locate
and download tunes
without any adult
supervision.

daughter who is only four years

like everybody is into

portable format allows for lots
of uses. You can burn CDs to play

Friends of
ours have created their own
playlists on our computer. When
they come over they are able to
add to their music lists and even
burn their preferences to CD to
take home with them.
Sometimes
one of us will get in a nostalgic
mood and think of a particular
song. It's so easy to check the
library to see if it's already
ready and waiting, or to run a
simple search - and you're
downloading music in no
time!
In addition
to downloading music, you can
also find standup comedy skits to
add to your collection. Every
once in a while, I'll get in the
mood to hear some of the
nostalgic tunes by The Beatles or
The Beach Boys. When that
happens, within seconds I can
find and play the clips, again,
using ITunes.
The
technology available these days
such as iPod, MP3 and other
players, makes downloading music,
movies and more as simple as a
click of the button. I can't
remember the last time I resorted
to playing a CD, since our music
library has become so
user-friendly and
accessible.

While music
is still purchased in the form of
CDs, it is very often converted
into mp3 digital music for use on
a computer or mp3 player. Indeed,
sometimes it seems like CD
players are all but obsolete now,
and I almost never use mine
anymore.
However, it
is nice to have music backed up
on CDs, and I try to keep my CD
collection current even if
I’m not listening to them
directly very much. I have a sort
of inherent distrust of computers
and all things purely digital,
and I’m just waiting for my
digital music players to explode
one day.

contain several albums at this
point, and you can usually pick
one up for less than 50 dollars.
